Technical Motion Designer (After Effects)

  • On-site
    • Madrid, Comunidad de Madrid, Spain

Job description

Motion Graphics Quality & Workflow Specialist — Help Shape the Backbone of Stadium Content Seen Worldwide

At AIM Sport, we bring digital signage to life on football’s biggest stages — working with the world’s top clubs and brands to create impactful in-stadium content seen by millions. Our work appears in over 300 stadiums globally and features alongside giants like Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munich, Adidas, Heineken, and Mastercard.

Our Creative Studio in Madrid is a vibrant, international, and collaborative space where motion designers push creative boundaries daily. But behind every great animation is solid technical execution — and that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a Technical Motion Designer who loves creative work but thrives on structure, precision, and process. You’ll help elevate the technical quality of our After Effects pipeline and empower the entire studio to work smarter and cleaner — making our creativity scalable and our execution flawless.

Job requirements

What You’ll Do

  • Own the technical health of our After Effects projects: structure comps, naming conventions, precomp hierarchies, and render settings.

  • Perform technical reviews (QC) of motion design content to ensure alignment, correct formats, optimal settings, and export integrity — especially for digital LED signage specs.

  • Develop and maintain template systems, toolkits, and reusable assets to speed up creative workflows.

  • Create and document technical standards and best practices for file management, folder structures, and project handoff.

  • Support the motion design team with automation tools, expressions, and basic scripting (where applicable).

  • Work closely with production managers and account leads to identify and prevent common delivery issues before they occur.

  • Act as a mentor or “go-to” person for troubleshooting technical challenges in After Effects and render pipelines.

What We’re Looking For

Must-haves:

  • Advanced After Effects skills — not just animation, but deep knowledge of composition structuring, expressions, render settings, and workflow optimization.

  • Meticulous eye for project hygiene, signage alignment, color space handling, file naming, and asset packaging.

  • Working knowledge of Cinema 4D and familiarity with render engines like Redshift or Arnold (for understanding full pipeline).

  • Strong understanding of video formats, codecs, frame rates, and delivery specs for broadcast and LED signage.

  • Comfortable documenting processes and creating team-facing guides or toolkits.

  • Collaborative mindset — happy to support and uplift a creative team.

Nice to have:

  • Experience writing simple scripts or expressions for AE (e.g., automation, versioning, smart templates).

  • Previous experience in a technical or pipeline-focused role in a studio or production house.

  • Familiarity with version control systems or file-sharing platforms.

  • Passion for sports, broadcast technology, or digital signage.

Why Join Us?

  • Your work will directly support high-profile creative seen by millions of fans worldwide.

  • Be the backbone of a creative team — enabling great design through great systems.

  • Join a diverse and international studio located across from Santiago Bernabéu in central Madrid.

  • Enjoy a friendly and forward-thinking culture, where ideas are heard and impact is real.

  • Perks include coffee, fresh fruit, team outings, and annual events like our Xmas Party.

Application Process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a 2-day hands-on session at our Madrid studio — where you’ll get a feel for our tools, workflows, and collaborative energy.
